Organization Settings & Features
A reference guide to every account-wide setting on the Features page — what each one does and when to change it.
Before You Begin
- You must be an Admin (or have a custom role with the Setting View permission) to view or change these settings.
- Settings on this page apply to the entire account — every user and every workspace.
- Nothing is saved until you click the Update button at the bottom of the page.

Settings reference
Text settings
Location menu name
Renames the "Locations" label everywhere in the app. For example, if your business calls them Sites, Properties, or Branches, set this field once and the entire interface updates.
Notification toggles
Send reminder emails and SMS
The master switch for all reminder delivery. When off, no email or SMS reminders fire — regardless of how individual items or contacts are configured. Use this during data cleanup or to temporarily silence the account.
Important: Turning this off does not delete queued reminders. They resume firing when you turn it back on.
UI behavior
Enable new UI
Turns on the latest interface. Most accounts should leave this on.
Show tags in dashboard
When on, tag chips appear on the main dashboard so you can see at a glance which records carry which tags.
Redirect to view on edit
When on, saving an edit automatically takes you to the item's read-only view page. When off, you stay on the edit form after saving.
Data quality
Require attachment
Forces every new expiration item to include at least one attachment (a photo, PDF, or other document) before it can be saved. Useful for compliance audits.
Require location
Forces every new expiration item to be linked to at least one location. Useful for organizations that track by site or branch.
Email customization
Enable Email From Name
When on, exposes an Email From Name text box. The value you enter appears as the "from" name on every outbound reminder email — for example, "ACME Compliance" instead of the default.
Hide Powered By in email
When on, removes the "Powered by Expiration Reminder" footer from every outbound email. Useful for white-labeled deployments.
Security
Two-factor authentication
When on, requires every user to set up 2FA at their next login. Once turned on, it cannot be bypassed by individual users.
Magic link login
When on, lets users sign in by clicking a one-time link sent to their email. A faster alternative to typing a password.
SMS provider
Use custom Twilio
When on, exposes three additional fields:
- Twilio Account SID
- Twilio Auth Token
- Twilio From Number
Fill these in to send SMS reminders from your own Twilio account instead of our shared service. Most accounts don't need this — leave it off unless your compliance team requires it.
Single Sign-On
Configure SSO
A link to the SSO setup page. Use this to connect your account to your identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, etc.). See Setting Up SSO.
Tips & Best Practices
- Make changes during off-hours. Many of these toggles affect every user. Schedule changes for a time when fewer people are using the app.
- Test risky toggles on yourself first. Before requiring 2FA across the account, set it up on your own user and confirm the flow works.
- Document the changes you make. Keep a log (in your own notes) of what you changed and when. There's no built-in audit log on this page.
- Combine with role permissions. Account-wide toggles set the boundary; per-role permissions fine-tune who can do what within those boundaries.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: I clicked a toggle but my change isn't reflected anywhere.
Solution: You forgot to click Update. Toggles do not save automatically. - Issue: I turned off Send reminder emails and SMS but contacts received reminders an hour later.
Solution: Reminders queued before the toggle change may still be in flight. New reminders won't be queued. If urgency requires it, contact support to flush the queue. - Issue: I renamed Locations to Sites, but a few menus still say "Locations".
Solution: Refresh the page and clear your browser cache. The rename takes effect on next page load. - Issue: I can't find the Customize → Features menu.
Solution: You don't have the Setting View permission. Ask an admin to grant it.
