Once connected, the Lano and Expiration Reminder integration offers several powerful features:
- Employee syncing — Employees in Lano are automatically synced to Expiration Reminder as contacts. This includes key details such as:
- Employee name
- Email address
- Mobile phone number
- Job title
- Department and manager
- Automatic archiving for departed employees — If an employee is marked as terminated or deactivated in Lano, they are automatically archived in Expiration Reminder. This ensures no notifications are sent to inactive employees, while their document history is retained for audit purposes.
- Streamlined notifications — Once synced, you can assign credentials, licenses, or training with expiration dates to employees in Expiration Reminder. Expiration Reminder then automatically notifies them when documents or certifications are nearing their due dates, ensuring timely renewals.
Before you begin, confirm that you have administrator access to both your Lano account and your Expiration Reminder workspace.
Connecting Lano to Expiration Reminder- Access the integration settings — Log in to your Expiration Reminder account, open the workspace settings menu (your name appears in the top-left corner), and click Integrations to view the available integrations.
- Select Lano — Scroll to the HRIS Integrations section and select Lano.
- Enter your Lano credentials — Confirm that you are an admin when prompted. A connection window opens where you provide your Lano account details.
- Authorize access — Follow the prompts to authorize Expiration Reminder to read employee data from Lano. Review the information shared between the two applications and approve the connection.
- Finalize the connection — Once authorized, the system configures the connection and runs the first sync. Click Finish to complete the setup.
After setting up the integration, you can manage settings under the Configure button:
Changes made here take effect immediately and do not require you to reconnect the integration.
- Enable or disable employee syncing as needed.
- Trigger a manual sync at any time if you need an immediate update.
- Update settings to match your organization's workflow.
How often does data sync between Lano and Expiration Reminder?
Data syncs automatically on a regular schedule (typically every few hours). You can also trigger a manual sync from the Configure screen whenever you need an immediate update.
What happens when an employee leaves?
When someone is marked as terminated or deactivated in Lano, they are automatically archived in Expiration Reminder so they stop receiving notifications, while their records remain available for audit purposes.
Do I need to be an administrator to set up the integration?
Yes. You will be asked to confirm admin access when connecting Lano, since the integration reads employee data from your account.
