Homerun Integration
This guide explains how to connect Homerun to Expiration Reminder so your candidates and new hires sync automatically and you can track every license, certification, and document expiration tied to them.
What this integration does
The Homerun integration automatically imports your candidates and new hires from Homerun into Expiration Reminder. Once synced, you can attach documents and expiration dates to each person's record, and Expiration Reminder will send automated renewal reminders before their credentials expire.
Prerequisites- An active Expiration Reminder account with permission to manage integrations.
- A Homerun account with administrator access to authorize the connection.
- Sufficient Homerun permissions to read candidates, applications, and jobs. (Contact your Homerun administrator if you are unsure whether your account has these permissions.)
- In Expiration Reminder, go to Settings → Integrations.
- Find Homerun in the integration catalog and click Connect.
- You will be redirected to Homerun's secure OAuth authorization screen. Sign in to Homerun and approve the requested read-only access.
- Once authorized, you are returned to Expiration Reminder and the initial sync begins.
- When the sync finishes, your Homerun candidates and new hires appear in Expiration Reminder, ready for you to add documents and expiration dates.
- Candidates and new hires from Homerun are imported into Expiration Reminder.
- The sync runs automatically on a regular schedule so new and updated records stay current. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time from Settings → Integrations.
- Documents, expiration dates, and reminder schedules are managed inside Expiration Reminder and are not written back to Homerun.
- Records are not appearing: Confirm the Homerun user used to connect the integration has permission to read candidates and applications. Then go to Settings → Integrations and trigger a manual sync.
- Connection failed or expired: Go to Settings → Integrations and reauthorize the Homerun integration. This is typically caused by a password change or an admin revoking the integration's access in Homerun.
- Missing records after the initial sync: Wait for the first full sync to finish — large Homerun accounts can take several minutes to import completely. If records are still missing after the sync completes, check that the connected Homerun user has permission to read all relevant candidates and applications.
Does this change my data in Homerun? No. Expiration Reminder reads your candidates and new hires; it does not modify your Homerun data.
How often does it sync? The integration syncs automatically on a regular schedule. You can also run a manual sync at any time from Settings → Integrations.
