Custom fields are a great way to add more detail to any item in Expiration Reminder. There are 10 different types of custom fields to choose from. This article covers where custom fields can be added and describes each field type.
Custom fields can be applied across your Expiration Reminder modules. To access custom fields, click your account name in the top-right corner, then select **Settings**. Under the **Customize** section, click **Customize Fields**.
From here, select the module tab you want to create the field for (e.g., Expirations, Contacts) and click the **Add Field** button. You can add custom fields for the following modules:

Custom Field Types
Text field
A text field that allows entering any type of character.
Number field
A number field allows entering any number in the text field.
Single option
The Single Option field is a dropdown list that allows you to select only one option.
Multiple options
The Multiple Options field is also a dropdown list, but allows you to select more than one option at a time.
Date field
The Date field allows you to select a date using a calendar date picker.
Multiline text
A text field that allows entering multiple lines of text.
Currency
The Currency field accepts a numeric value and formats it as a currency amount.
Link
The Link field allows you to enter a hyperlink to a file or web page.
Address
The Address field allows you to enter an address that autocompletes using a built-in database of addresses.
Contact
The Contact field is a dropdown list of all contacts in the system, allowing you to associate an item with an existing contact.
